My Own Oasis.Β

I had the pleasure of having my first massage and a Deluxe Pedicure at Oasis Day Spa & Salon in Kill Devil Hills, NC.  I opted for a deep tissue massage because I have so many trigger points in my neck and shoulders. We started with a questionnaire and my goals. I asked the lovely blonde to target my neck shoulders and hips. She had amazing pressure;  at times I wanted to yell stop, but I pushed through. The oils she used smelled amazing and were calming. I felt great after we finished she gave me a water and I began my deluxe pedi. I have super ticklish feet and I’m a nail tech so I didn’t have high expectations; but was pleasantly surprised. I already had gel polish and design done before I left so she didn’t do any of my toe services (at my request- she complimented my art immediately). I enjoyed the deep exfoliation, foot mask with towel wrap,  and quite enjoyed the paraffin wax, and who wouldn’t love a mimosa at 10:30 am? She gave a decent massage on my feet and legs,  overall I would go back if I was in OBX again. I would try other services, mixed with the same services. This was the best start to my birthday I could have asked for!

Hello, July I’m so ready for you! πŸŒŠπŸŒ΄πŸŒ…

2016 was an absolute wonderful year for me. I’m going to say my favorite part was being in Washington DC & Cape Cod, Mass. I have been so busy I never really posted anything about July,  my birthday or how amazing life was then!  So let’s kick it back to a much warmer time and wish for the heat we all complained about!

First: I’m going to talk about all the fun I had in the beginning of July.

I had July 4th off and spent it my favorite way (with Brent eating πŸ” and drinking🍹🍻). I know I’m lame didn’t watch the fireworks,  but we listened to Katy Perry’s Firework 😹. So after the 4th I worked legitimately worked July 6-23, 18 straight days. In that time I did lots (and lots) of nails. My customers are amazing thoughtful individuals who are always making me laugh.

After the 18 days it was time for much needed vacation.

We began the trip to DC on Brent’s birthday (I slept for most of it). We stopped at a few goodwills and even looked around in savers. Finally we arrive in DC and it’s time for Battleground πŸ’—

That’s the closest we had ever been to the ring, I would say Brent had a pretty incredible birthday!  We spent the next day in DC exploring during a heatwave (not our brightest move). I got a pedi (probably won’t do that again) then bought new sneakers (got blisters from walking in new shoes in swealtering heat). It was so so so hot, by the time we got to the White House it felt like we might die of heat exhaustion (even with water)

While we were at the White House we were forced to the other side of the road because someone was leaving. Our journey back to the hotel was hot and I got grumpy.

All the excitement I could muster.

I ended up a little heat sick we rested some,  then went for lunch which perked me up enough to go to the hotels refreshment hour, I probably had 5 tequila sunrises and Brent had 5 yeunglings, I was so drunk I ate nachos in bed and passed out!

We then traveled to Cape Cod what was supposed to be an 8 hour trip turned into 14 hours thanks to a long detour through all 5 boroughs,  tired and miserable we finally got to the hotel.
