High Protein Nail Soak

Hello Blogosphere! I’m Brandi a licensed Nail Technician from the great state of Pennsylvania! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many great men & women through my job, including the beautiful woman who spent 13 days doing a nail soak for me!

When Melissa first came to me for her nails she wanted to get her Acrylic nails removed and go with shellac (gel polish) manicures. Her main goal was going back to natural nails. After a few manicures her polish wouldn’t stay on her nails and her nails would break. So we added UV Gel, which is stronger than Shellac on its own but weaker than acrylic. Her nails seemed to do fine unless she was bartending, until mid May. She came in with broken, chipped nails, we did a regular polish manicure and settled on doing a soak to strengthen and lengthen her nails. I’d seen an orange and garlic soak with an EVOO soak after, but it meant squeezing an orange & fresh pressing a garlic clove and heating the oil to warm. Which is after all a great deal of work when you have a full-time and part-time jobs stealing all your time, And unless you regularly use garlic & have a press handy and youΒ  have a juicer because you love making homemade OJΒ  it could have gotten costly! So she went on the hunt for something that would work for her lifestyle and nails. She found a High Protein Milk, Egg & Honey soak.

Melissa spent the next 13 days doing this strengthening soak. 1/2 cup milk, 2 well beaten eggs and 2 tbls honey. She did 8 soaks total. Mostly she had bare nails during the soak and would polish with clear or color after.

After the first soak she said her tips were weak, (understandable with the enhancements we had just removed.) but her tips hadn’t broken like they usually would. She said her nail beds felt stronger!

After 5 soaks Melissa began to notice her nail beds were getting thicker and stronger.

6 soaks in and she’s noticing her nails are barely brittle and really growing!

Melissa spent the last day of her soak bartending a wedding, for 8 hours! And finished by detailing a car! Melissa didn’t break a nail, and trust me when I say this is a miracle!

Look at that free edge! After 13 days, trust me when I say that’s growth!

Melissa came to see me this Memorial Day and we had fun creating this Mani/Pedi! πŸ’…πŸ’–πŸ˜Š

Melissa has decided to add this soak to her weekly beauty routine once per week. I can’t wait to see what the future brings! Thank you for your time and energy! πŸ’…πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–
